On February 26, 2025, the power source project of the Chaidamu Golmud East Desert Base in Qinghai Province, China's largest "desert, gobi, and wasteland" new energy transmission base in terms of installed capacity, officially started construction.
The project has an investment of approximately 80 billion yuan, with a total scale of 19.24 million kilowatts, of which new energy installed capacity accounts for 85%.

After completion, it will transmit about 36.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to Guangxi every year, effectively alleviating Guangxi's electricity demand.

At the same time, the "Qinghai-Guangxi DC" ultra-high voltage transmission channel will also be constructed simultaneously to ensure the efficient and stable transmission of electricity.

The commencement of this project represents a major breakthrough in China's new energy field. It helps to promote the optimization of the energy structure and contributes to the realization of the "dual carbon" goals. After the project is completed, it will further enhance China's new energy consumption and transmission capabilities and promote the optimal allocation of energy resources among regions. Let's look forward to the early completion of the project, which will inject new impetus into the development of China's green energy!
